Privacy Policy
Gadgetron Repair ("we," "us," "our") operates gadgetronrepair.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website and repair services.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and device information when you book a repair, request a quote, submit a trade-in, or purchase a product or ticket. We also collect payment information, which is processed through secure, PCI-compliant payment gateways and is not stored on our servers.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to process repair orders, schedule appointments, send repair status updates, deliver SMS and email notifications about your service, process payments, issue tickets and reservations, and respond to customer support requests. We may also use your contact information to send service-related follow-ups, warranty reminders, and review requests.
SMS and Email Communications
By providing your phone number and email address, you consent to receive transactional and service-related SMS messages and emails regarding your repair, appointment, ticket, or reservation. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message.
Data Privacy and No-Snooping Policy
Our technicians are strictly prohibited from accessing personal files, photos, messages, or applications unless explicitly required for the repair (e.g., testing the camera app after a camera replacement). We do not ask for your device passcode unless necessary for diagnostic testing. You are encouraged to back up and wipe your device before mail-in or drop-off if you have strict privacy concerns.
Data Recovery and Storage
During data recovery services, your recovered files are stored on isolated, encrypted, offline drives. Once your data is successfully transferred to your provided medium and you confirm receipt, our local copies are securely wiped using military-grade (DoD 5220.22-M) data destruction protocols within 7 days.
Trade-In Data Destruction
All devices sold or traded in to Gadgetron Repair undergo an immediate factory reset. If a device is dead or cannot be powered on to be reset, the logic board's NAND storage chips are physically destroyed or securely wiped during the refurbishment process before the device is resold or recycled.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your contact information with third-party marketers. We may share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our business (such as payment processors, calendar and booking platforms, and SMS/email delivery providers), all of whom are bound by confidentiality obligations.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@gadgetronrepair.com or (866) 652-0974.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
